Projection Mapping

DORTBUNT, Friedensplatz , Dortmund, Germany
Mai 2/3, 2025
As part of the city festival, a ten-minute projection mapping show will take place on Friedensplatz on May 2 and 3, 2025, after dark. Eight high-performance projectors will first recreate a realistic image of the old town hall before transforming its façade into a dynamic canvas for a visual narrative.
The show takes the audience on a journey through the city’s past, present, and future, narrated by Tirzah Haase, actress and the familiar voice of the city railway announcements. Urban motifs such as the evolving cityscape, iconic personalities, historical moments, and popular meeting places unfold in a fast-paced sequence, creating the feeling of a ride through collective memory.
An interactive telephone booth on Friedensplatz extends the project beyond the show. Visitors can share personal wishes, thoughts, and ideas, which serve as inspiration for future facade mappings. This creates a format that not only reflects the city’s history but continues to evolve through public participation.
